JOB TITLE: APPLICATIONS TEAM LEAD (ESS)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• ADHERE TO AND ENFORCE ALL COMPANY AND IS POLICIES AND STANDARDS
• SUPERVISE THE FOLLOWING APPLICATION TEAM OUTCOMES:
o USER SECURITY
o APPLICATION PERFORMANCE AND RESOLUTION OF SLOW PERFORMANCE ISSUES
o COMPLIANCE TO IS MATRIX
o COORDINATE AND EXECUTE TECHNICAL TEST DURING APPLICATION UPGRADES AND NEW DEPLOYMENTS
o DOCUMENTATION OF IS APPLICATIONS
o PROACTIVE MAINTENANCE
o EXECUTE ROUTINE SYSTEM FUNCTIONALITIES
• DIRECT PROBLEM INVESTIGATION AND ANALYSIS
• ORGANIZE AND COORDINATE APPLICATION TEAMS’ ACTIVITIES
• PROVIDE UP-TO-DATE STANDBY SCHEDULES AND MAINTAIN ACCURATE TEAM LEAVE SCHEDULES
• CONDUCT REGULAR TEAM MEETINGS TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK AND GET INPUT FROM STAFF MEMBERS

JOB CONDITIONS:
NORMAL MTNN OFFICE PLAN PROJECTS AND CONSTRAINTS WILL REQUIRE OVERTIME / WEEKEND WORK. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION IS 2.2 OR EQUIVALENT.

REPORTING TO: ESS MANAGER REQUIRED SKILLS:
4 YEARS EXPERIENCE WHICH INCLUDES:
• AT LEAST 1 YEAR PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE AS AN APPLICATION’S TEAM LEAD
• APPLICATION ADMINISTRATION AND DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS SECTOR
• KNOWLEDGE OF:
o IS SUPPORT PROCESSES
o SYSTEMS INTEGRATION
o PROJECT MANAGEMENT
o APPLICATION CONSTRUCTION
o INFORMATION, TECHNOLOGY AND APPLICATION ARCHITECTURE
• EXPOSURE TO TYPICAL MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATIONS APPLICATIONS WITH SPECIALIST EXPERTISE IN MORE THAN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONAL AREAS:
o BILLING SYSTEMS (CORPORATE & RETAIL BILLING, INTERCONNECT BILLING)
o ERP SYSTEMS (DISTRIBUTION, RETAIL, FINANCE, PAYROLL, HR, ASSET MANAGEMENT)
o GSM NETWORK INTERFACING APPLICATIONS (PROVISIONING, PRE-PAID MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS)
o FRAUD MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS
• HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

EMPLOYMENT STATUS : PERMANENT

QUALIFICATION:
B.SC COMPUTER SCIENCE OR RELATED DISCIPLINE FROM A REPUTABLE INSTITUTION.
